The Goal of the WSIA News Department is to air the news that matters to Staten Island. This includes stories dealing primarily with the island and it's neighboring communities. Besides just local news we cover local events, including shows and concerts.

From covering social & cultural events such as
GROUNDHOG DAY at the Staten Island Zoo
and the ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE on Victory Blvd.,
to reporting on breaking news, such as the Oil barge Fire in Tottenville, and interviewing local politicians and organizations, we are dedicated to keeping WSIA's listeners informed with a wide range of stories.

And on the entertainment side, WSIA had the honor of covering Vans Warp Tour '05 and got to interview some of the top bands (along with some amazing newcomers) of the industry. And there is much more to come!
